  • Practical guidance to help people professionals manage and embed change effectively in their organisations.

The pace of change has increased exponentially over the last few decades, with vast legislative, political and economic shifts, as well as rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI). The COVID-19 pandemic also led to radical changes in our approach to health, wellbeing and the working environment, such as the increased use of technology for remote working.

It is clear that to survive, and thrive, organisations must respond to this change. People professionals need to be ready to co-ordinate change across all sectors, to keep ahead of developments and support people in their organisations to embrace change.

Often it is not the change itself that is challenging, but the way change is managed and embedded in the workplace. This guide will help you to manage change well, by identifying the barriers and addressing the potential pitfalls.

    • Explore how to manage, enable and support change management initiatives effectively

Organisational change is a constant in many organisations, driven by a number of different forces including customers, markets and technology. Yet research shows that most change initiatives fail to get their intended outcomes and may even limit an organisation’s potential and its people. The effects of not managing change effectively can be devastating and long lasting, so it’s important that people professionals understand the issues and equip themselves with techniques to support change management initiatives.

This factsheet looks at why change management is important, the implications of not managing change effectively, and the potential issues that can arise in change management processes. It also offers a series of techniques to help ensure change is effective.

              • What is #InclusiveHR?

#InclusiveHR has been developed with an ambitious vision and purpose for the people profession in the NHS. We believe that this vision and purpose has the potential to be adopted more broadly across the people profession. It is a social movement for change focused on recognising that the racial inequalities existing in society are replicated in our HR & OD departments. Our focus is on reducing these disparities, becoming more inclusive and leading by example as a profession.
