Diabetes

  • This pathway will cover basic diabetes physiology, and as the journey expands, will cover the basics of CGM in Type 2 diabetes, including how to support patients, the basics of Dexcom ONE+ CGM and completes with education on how to both upload and interpret data.

    Registration for the pathway is easy, but must be via Neighbourhood Team Leads. Guidance on this process is provided below.

    Neighbourhood Team Leads

    Please follow the steps below to enrol your team onto the pathway.

    • Step 1: Ask all staff to sign up to the free Dexcom Education Hub (https://uk-educationhub.dexcom.com/users/sign_up)

    Community and Neighbourhood Nurses

    • Step 1: Register to the free Dexcom Education Hub (https://uk-educationhub.dexcom.com/users/sign_up)

    • Step 2: Inform your Team Lead that you have signed up to the Education Hub and that you would like to enrol on the course.

    • Step 3: Your Team Lead will share your name will our local Dexcom representative, which will be passed to the Dexcom Education Hub team. They will enrol you onto the course.

    • Step 4: Complete the CPD activity at your own pace. Certificate provided upon completion.


    • Type 1 in the most common form of diabetes diagnosed in children for which insulin in the main treatment. It is important for patients to check and manage their blood sugar levels to help reduce their risk of serious short or long-term health problems. These are called diabetes complications.  

      This webinar was facilitated by Diabetes UK’s Together Type 1 group. They are a community of young people (aged 11-25) living with type 1 diabetes. The webinar provides health care professionals with a young person’s perspective on diabetes complications.
