Want the opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of your community directly? In this virtual work experience programme, you’ll discover the pharmacy teams' role in supporting health and wellbeing with North East and North Cumbria ICB, South Yorkshire ICB, West Yorkshire ICB, and Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. We’ll introduce you to the range of pharmacy careers and pathways in the health and social care sector so that you can kickstart your journey in this key area. 

    What’s Included

    This virtual work experience programme will prepare you to kickstart your pharmacy career, with a series of engaging modules. Between videos, activities and quizzes that will put your knowledge to the test, we’ll build your understanding of the health and social care sector and prepare you to take your first step in your pharmacy journey!

    • This module will give you the rundown on the pharmacy industry, highlighting its importance to the health and care sector, its purpose and the variety of roles within it, including ones you may not have initially considered. You’ll understand the difference between registered and non-registered roles and what this distinction means. You’ll also look at the various areas in which pharmacy professionals can work, showing you the many pathways in the sector.

      • This module will help you discover all about pharmacy support staff and explore roles within the pharmacy support team. You’ll get to grips with these careers, understanding their day-to-day responsibilities and the environments they will likely work in. You’ll also be tested through a detail-oriented activity, where accuracy is crucial.

        • This module acts as your guide to building a career in the pharmacy sector. We’ll first understand what exactly is involved in an apprenticeship, whether it is a degree apprenticeship or a university degree. Next up, we’ll give you a rundown of the essential skills needed for a successful career in healthcare and an overview of some local and national qualifications on offer. After this, we’ll look at the specific routes you could take to become a pharmacy professional, as well as the progression opportunities available in different areas.
